Ivanov R.V. (Russian, 20th C.) - Vladimir Dormition Cathedral, Signed (1990, Oil on Canvas)
Ivanov R.V. (Russian, 20th C.) - Vladimir Dormition Cathedral, Signed (1990, Oil on Canvas). Expressionist nocturne landscape with the Vladimir Dormition Cathedral. Two original exhibition labels are attached to the stretcher bars. It appears that the painting was exhibited alongside Aivazovsky’s infamous The Storm in the Sea. Even though 1990 is written on the back of the canvas one of the labels point towards an earlier date. One of the tags reference prints had been made in Leningrad with the date 1989. This could mean the date on the back was for cataloging purposes. Signed in the lower right corner. Housed in a black carved wood frame. In good condition with wear consistent with age. Please reference the photos for details.
