Antique African Nupe Terracotta Pot Support
Antique African Nupe Terracotta Pot Support. This is a very intricately designed pot support from the Nupe people. Typically these supports would be buried halfway into the ground and used as a support for rounded clay vessels. Situated in the fire inside houses the top half is darkened from the flames while the other half still had the pinkish hue of unweathered terracotta. In used condition with a few chips at the rim and dirt and age along the body. Please refer to photos for details.
