Raymonde Desabres (French, 1925-2020) Abstract Biomorphic Polychrome Ceramic Vessel (ca. 1970). Large ceramic vase/vessel with incised texture and hand painted. The vessel itself is an abstract tree form with small branch/stem coming from the body of the vessel. This is a part of the “Womb” collection exhibited at the State Museum. In good condition with wear conducive with age and material.

Raymonde "Ré" Désabres Plaut (1925-2020) was a long-respected Harrisburg artist and an active member of the Art Association of Harrisburg. Born in France, where she aided the French Resistance against the Nazis, Re eventually relocated to Pennsylvania, where her art won several awards and was displayed in many exhibitions, including the State Museum of Pennsylvania.
