Vintage Japanese Iga Ware Vase
Vintage Japanese Iga Ware Vase. Hard clay vase in a reddish light brown hue with traditional lattice impressions throughout. Two lugs (or ears) present on the sides of the vase. Drips and pools of the traditional translucent jade feldspathic glass “glaze” (bidoro) is present on the side of the body and thicker areas along the bottom. White specks throughout found typically in the Iga clay. In excellent condition with wear consistent with firing method and age. Appears to be signed in a hatch mark on the bottom.
