Mexican Brutalist Pochote Burnished Barro Clay Vessel. Oaxacan vessel with the thorns that represent the trunk of the pochote tree. Heavily burnished before being wood fired. The burnishing and firing method creates a muted glassy exterior with varying degrees of black and siena brown. The interior is a crackle ash glaze in an unsaturated honey siena and burnt umber hue. Signed on the bottom. In very good condition with consistent with age and firing method.
