Titled and signed in pencil at the bottom. In used condition with wear consistent with age. Handling marks present along the margins. Water mark in the lower right quadrant. Richard Hood was a WPA artist primarily known for printmaking. Hood was also involved in the Federal Art Project, the Philadelphia College of Art, and the American Color Print Society. From 1951-1982, Hood was a professor at the Philadelphia College of Art. From 1956-1983, Hood was the President of the Color Print Society. Richard Hood is held in many major institutions and museums nationwide including: MOMA, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Smithsonian institute, Metropolitan Museum of Art, etc.
